Welcome to the South Carolina
 National Guard
Public Affairs Website.

What an exciting time to be a member of the Guard! As you are probably aware, we have a whole lot going on, and it is the goal of our State Public Affairs office to use this website to keep our Guard family and the public up-to-date on current S.C. National Guard operations.

In the event of a natural or man-made disaster here in South Carolina our website will serve as a vital 24/7/365 link between our S.C. National Guard Public Affairs Emergency Response Field Teams and the American public.

This site will also be useful to those interested in learning more about the incredible job our S.C. National Guardsmen have been doing since the terrorist attacks on 9-11. You will learn about those who have served in Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Jump Start and State active duty missions.

Finally, the S.C. National Guard is getting ready to enter a period of Force Structure transformation. The next couple of years will be very exciting for us. As some of you may already know, we will be losing some units but fielding new units in their place. The end result for us will be a larger S.C. National Guard with a mix of units and specialty skills needed to better respond to domestic emergencies. You'll be able to stay up-to-date right here through this process.

Thank you for your interest in our S.C. National Guard Public Affairs website. We look forward to your comments, suggestions and support. Sincerely, Col. Pete Brooks, S.C. National Guard
